Dairy-free Almond Butter Pour Over

I don’t know about you, but I’m only here for the coffee. The good coffee that is…my husband Daniel likes to try and make coffee the best experience of our day by roasting his own, getting all the right equipment and making sure it meets all the standards. Good enough is not a thing here…

So he has taught me how to make pour-over, but unlike him, I do like the occasional fun add-ins! Today I am coming as you with an almond butter pour over that will change your coffee habits when it comes down to it!

What you’ll need

  • chem-ex

  • chem-ex filters

  • coffee grounds

  • food scale.

  • 20 grams of ground coffee

  • 1/4th cup almond milk

  • 400 grams of boiling water

  • 1 tsp. coconut sugar

  • 1 Tbsp. almond butter

Directions

Boil your water while you fold your filter and place it into the chem ex. Pour your boiling water to lightly coat the filter and then pour the water out, making sure to hold the filter in place so it doesn’t fall out.

Placing your Chemex on the scale pour in 20 grams of ground coffee. In a circular motion pour in 40 grams of coffee and then let it sit for about 40 seconds. This lets the coffee bloom!

Slowly pour in the rest of the water (360 grams) in a circular motion. let it filter through and voila you have coffee!

Pour your desired amount of coffee into the blender, a lot or a little is okay! add in your almond milk, almond butter & coconut sugar.

Blend away, pour & enjoy!
